Mitsubishi XD95U Projector; VLT-XD95LP Projector Lamp
The Mitsubishi XD95U is a great little presentation projector that is extremely lightweight, has a great balance between contrast and brightness, and has a resolution that is good enough for high quality video. The XD95U is a DLP projector that was in production for 3 years and found its way into many carrying cases due to its reasonable price and durability. It was originally priced at $2000 USD, however the overstock can now be purchased for much less somewhere in the $1000 range. It is the perfect example of a projector that is great for presentations on the go since it only weighs just over 3 lbs and can project from as close as 5 feet. It maxes out 150 inches, however this is as large as you will need if you are presenting in small boardrooms.
It can display at 2200 ANSI lumens, which is quite bright and should be sufficient for rooms with small amounts of ambient light. Your audience generally will be taking notes and therefore it is good to have sufficient brightness which the XD95U provides. The projector lamp on the inside is a 200W projector bulb, which can be found as part number VLT-XD95LP and can last an average of 2000 hours.
The Resolution is pretty standard at 1024x768p, but this is great considering it was not manufactured for hardcore movie and video usage, yet the image will still be crisp. The aspect ratio as a result is the typical 4:3. The XD95U also comes equipped with a Blackboard mode, so that you can project onto dark surfaces, knowing that you will not always have the option to project onto a white screen.
The Mitsubishi XD95U has a 6 Segment Color Wheel which allows it to refresh at a very high rate, which means that you will have great color representation, and since it is DLP technology, you will get virtually no color decay, which can sometimes be present on LCD projectors when a pixel burns out.
