Projection design F22 SX+, 400-0402-00 Projector Lamp
Projectors have come a long way when it comes to the features that are now offered, and while many of the low-end less expensive projectors claim to be bright and claim to provide high resolution, if you truly want a projector for professional purposes you must spend a little more.Projection Design , a Norwegian company with a penchant for being extremely futuristic, has developed a series of projectors that can be trusted for use in flight simulators to medical imaging to serious presentations in large venues. Much like an expensive camera, what separates these projectors from the ones you can buy at Best Buy for under $600 is the lens, the resolution, and the overall power of its projection. I recently spoke to a client who had purchased a cheaper model projector for use in a university amphi-theatre who had realized that he simply was not getting a bright enough, clear enough image. It is in these cases that I strongly recommend purchasing the right model for your needs.
The F22 SX+ model comes with 3000 ANSI lumens of brightness, and Contrast of 2500:1, and while this may not seem like much when compared to the specifications of your home use Optoma , I can guarantee you will not be disappointed in the actual application and in reality it blows your home cinema away. The optional lenses give you the freedom to choose between Wide Angle Fixed, Ultra Wide Angle Fixed, Long Throw Zoom, and Standard Zoom lenses. The clarity of these lenses alone magnify your image, both resolution and brightness, to a degree that will match the presentation itself.
The Native resolution of the F22 SX+ is a disgusting 1400X1050 pixels, and while many applications may not be able to come close in producing enough resolution to keep up with this machine, if you are working with flight simulation or 3D medical imaging, this projector will be a nice fit. You will also be surprised to find out that the projector lamp used is merely a 220W UHP lamp, which uses significantly less cooling, and therefore makes for quieter operation. The replacement projector lamp, which is also known as lamp part number 400-0402-00 is readily available and does not require a technician to install.
A few other features that make this projector truly a professional system, is the wired networking, which allows you to synchronize any number of projectors to create as large a screen as you find necessary for your application and a 24 hour operational mode. You can leave this projector running for an inordinate amount of time without it having a major meltdown. The components are rated to withstand ridiculous amounts of running time without breaking down, which is hard to say about any run-of-the-mill projector.
The moral of the story here is that while the price of the average projector allows most consumers a chance to present on a big screen, if you are an industrial user, your only option is to go with an expensive projector. There are many companies that build a good high end projector, however one of the most trusted names still remains Projector Design.
